Buddy Uldrikson has been
called an Òuncommon horsemanÓ as a result of his gifted ability of
Òdiscovering another wayÓ for horses and their riders to achieve their full
potential. As a clinician, he teaches beginning through advanced levels of
horsemanship skills aimed at developing confidence and trust between
performance, pleasure, and trail horses and their riders. Additionally, he is
recognized nationally for his strengths in Colt Starting, Calf and Team
Roping, Cattle Working, Dressage-English, Ground Work, Trailer Loading,
Behavior Problem Solving, and Trauma Healing for Troubled Horses. An added
gift he possesses is his ability to facilitate Òrelationship repairÓ for
advanced riders and their horses. Grounded in the theories
and methodologies of Tom Dorrance and Ray Hunt he is most admired for his
inherent gift for inspiring students to Òwork from the inside out of the
horse and individual versus the outside in;Ó or, in his words: ÒYouÕre not
communicating from your head to your horse, you are communicating from your
heart to his heart; thatÕs where the connection is. And, when that happens,
you not only have a happy rider, but a happy horse.Ó Buddy also holds as a
gold standard a philosophy of discipline without punishment, which in terms
of establishing trust is authenticity at its finest. This gentle yet
assertive approach lead him into the psychological community where he works
as a co-clinician with Trauma Healing Practitioners who specialize in
treating people with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Buddy Uldrikson also has
gained numerous awards as an athlete and competitor including his most recent
accomplishment of placing 15th out of 200 competitors in last
yearÕs nationally televised Extreme Mustang Makeover, where he brought the
crowd to their feet as he demonstrated flying lead changes, cattle working,
and dressage maneuvers on the wild mustang ÒJackpotÓ who he had been given a
maximum of 100 days to start. Additionally, his past includes qualifying and
participating in the World Series Team Roping Finals in 2007; and in his
younger years he claimed the Little Britches National Championship title for
team roping. In the past few years he has worked on barrel racing Futurity
