Buddy Uldrikson has been called an Òuncommon horsemanÓ as a result of his gifted ability of Òdiscovering another wayÓ for horses and their riders to achieve their full potential. As a clinician, he teaches beginning through advanced levels of horsemanship skills aimed at developing confidence and trust between performance, pleasure, and trail horses and their riders. Additionally, he is recognized nationally for his strengths in Colt Starting, Calf and Team Roping, Cattle Working, Dressage-English, Ground Work, Trailer Loading, Behavior Problem Solving, and Trauma Healing for Troubled Horses. An added gift he possesses is his ability to facilitate Òrelationship repairÓ for advanced riders and their horses.

 

Grounded in the theories and methodologies of Tom Dorrance and Ray Hunt he is most admired for his inherent gift for inspiring students to Òwork from the inside out of the horse and individual versus the outside in;Ó or, in his words: ÒYouÕre not communicating from your head to your horse, you are communicating from your heart to his heart; thatÕs where the connection is. And, when that happens, you not only have a happy rider, but a happy horse.Ó Buddy also holds as a gold standard a philosophy of discipline without punishment, which in terms of establishing trust is authenticity at its finest. This gentle yet assertive approach lead him into the psychological community where he works as a co-clinician with Trauma Healing Practitioners who specialize in treating people with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

 

Buddy Uldrikson also has gained numerous awards as an athlete and competitor including his most recent accomplishment of placing 15th out of 200 competitors in last yearÕs nationally televised Extreme Mustang Makeover, where he brought the crowd to their feet as he demonstrated flying lead changes, cattle working, and dressage maneuvers on the wild mustang ÒJackpotÓ who he had been given a maximum of 100 days to start. Additionally, his past includes qualifying and participating in the World Series Team Roping Finals in 2007; and in his younger years he claimed the Little Britches National Championship title for team roping. In the past few years he has worked on barrel racing Futurity horses and their riders.

 

As a clinician Buddy also has been published in The Bridle and Bit Magazine, The Wickenburg Sun Newspaper, and has served as a guest on the KBSZ Radio station where he shared training tips and techniques.

 

And, last but not least, Buddy travels around the United States appearing at expos, conducting clinics, judging, and horsemanship demonstrations. The American Trail horse competition at Arizona Festival of Horses; Craig Cameron Extreme Cowboy Race; Equine Extravaganza; Equifest; Arizona Dressage Association; Rancho De Los Caballeros; and the Arizona Sun Circuit Quarter Horse Show.
