Rancho Rio Bonita Launches Trauma Healing Workshop

“There is another way”

Colleen DeRango, MA, LISAC, SEP respected trauma healing specialist teams up with Buddy Uldrikson, an uncommon horseman, to offer week-long specialty workshops around trauma healing for individuals, couples, and families. Together, with a handful of the most gifted therapists of all; horses, a journey toward healing and connection is undertaken.

The five day workshop integrates a trauma-based Model, Peter Levine’s Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, and Buddy Uldrikson’s natural horsemanship, while embracing the expertise of equines to encourage the essence of “congruency, coherence, and integration” of recovery, healing, and empowerment.

The workshop is limited to five participants; and qualifications for attendance include:  Actively working a program of recovery, currently active in out-patient therapy; and previous completion of an in-patient treatment program.

Program costs cover all activities at the ranch; and lunch daily. Additional costs include food, transportation and hotel accommodations.

The program consists of activities with horses around: Self Esteem, Boundaries, via Somatic Experiencing, EMDR and Equine activities. It is experiential-based, integrated with natural horsemanship; and, time is available for journaling, artwork, 12-step meetings, meditation and, contemplation.
